What do we know about FibreGro®'s performance

Azwood conducted a comparison trial over a timeframe of 16 weeks. Using Leptospermum Copper Sheen planted in a "control" bark chip blend potting medium versus the FibreGro® potting medium. The observations were remarkable.

The trial

Both plants were potted simultaneously, kept in identical environments, and followed the same watering and fertilisation schedule. The plant grown in the FibreGro® potting medium exhibited significantly better results and superior growth.

Observations included:

  • FibreGro® was approximately 25% lighter to lift than the control medium

  • FibreGro® was 380mm taller in plant growth – a 21% difference

  • FibreGro®’s plant structure was significantly superior with lateral branches more evenly distributed and optimised to capture sunlight

  • FibreGro® had a greater number of larger leader roots visible

  • FibreGro®’s roots were thicker and penetrated all the way to the bottom

  • FibreGro® showed an increased presence of capillary and fine roots enabling the plant to absorb the maximum amount of water

  • FibreGro® medium held together very well

  • FibreGro®’s moisture content was higher and left an imprint on the hands during handling, unlike the control
